"I forbid her from returning to that house but she refused" - Yetunde Balogun sister denies suicide given proof




Pelumi, the deceased sister whose husband stated to have drank poison
and killed herself after serious argument with her husband over his plan on marrying a second wife in Ilorin, Kwara state, has spoken out over the matter.



 The Linguistics graduate of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), the mother of two, who would have turned 31 on Easter Monday, died at the general hospital, Ilorin, on Monday April 11. 

 

"More so", another side of the story ascertain that Yetunde Balogun was poisoned by her mother-in-law and husband because she was a Christian meanwhile the police said investigation was ongoing and has also conducted an autopsy to be certain of the real cause of her death.

 

Speaking to Daily Trust on the case,Pelumi Balogun, the immediate younger sister of the deceased, disagreed with the saying  that her sister poisoned herself,she said it is an injustice that Yetunde can never take her own life, she further stated that their family is still in agony, and rather accused the husband’s family of hiding something, so she promised to fight to the very end of the case.


 

Further more, pelumi said, “We were supposed to celebrate her birthday last Monday but my younger sister, Deborah got to Yetunde's house that day and she met many people outside that informed her that our sister was dead, I lamented because I have advised her not return to that house again but she doesn't listen.


The autopsy result will be out on Tuesday, so, she is still at the mortuary, pelumi said all everyone is saying about her sister is false, but  she believes God will fight for her, because She is dead and can’t come up to defend herself, "For now the deceased family will wait have to wait till when the result is out, then the truth would be revealed.”
